My internship involved working as an Instructional Technology Specialist for the Pequea Valley School District during the spring and summer of 2014. I worked on various projects with the technology staff, the administration, and other teachers.

I designed and delivered professional development to the teaching staff on a variety of topics including course managements systems and productivity, social media in education, student engagement, and technology features. The professional development ranged from small groups, to larger group instruction. I participated in four day long technology professional development sessions throughout the summer. In addition to these day long professional development sessions, other workshops were completed in small groups. The professional development topics ranged based off the audience and topic of the technology day.

I worked with the administration to create a district wide Symbaloo page. This project brought all of the necessary resources to one place for teachers and staff members. With a new Math and Reading Series, along with many high importance subscriptions, this Symbaloo page has been rolled out to every teacher and staff computer in the district.

I gained technical experience by working with the IT staff to reimage computers and iPads, repair screens, and upgrade memory along with other summer maintenance duties.

I was fortunate to gain a wide range of experience and work with many different people which made my internship a successful learning opportunity. I look forward to spending more time using the skills I learned in the LTMS program to help redesign and shape education using technology.
